Peshawar: The Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP<\/a>) has launched as many as 17 community infrastructure schemes in the districts of North and South Waziristan \u2013 under the European Union (EU) funded \u201cAid to uprooted people in Pakistan\u201d project, according to a news source published on October 06.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is being jointly funded by EU and Germany\u2019s KfW Development Bank. The initiative aims to implement\/establish six potable water supply schemes, five sanitisation, and four irrigation schemes \u2013 at a total cost of PKR 66.5 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reportedly, these schemes would benefit a total of 1,800 households in selected villages. As the name of the initiative implies, all these community infrastructure schemes have been developed in areas where displaced families have recently returned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
