Rawalpindi: While addressing a press conference at his office on Sunday, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Raja Tariq Mehmood revealed that investigations were underway against developers of illegal housing schemes, according to a news story shared in national dailies on October 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion, the chairman further stated that efforts were being made to reopen inquires against the selected projects with the help of the National Accountability Bureau and the Federal Investigation Agency. At the same, the development authority is also considering making the State Bank of Pakistan a part of the investigation in order to help make recoveries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chairman also took the opportunity to shed some light on the various development projects being undertaken by the RDA, including the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project. With regards to the RRR project, Mr. Mehmood disclosed that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar were expected to lay the foundation stone at the project site soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
