Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP<\/a>) government has imposed the smart lockdown in the provincial capital of Peshawar to prevent the spread of coronavirus amid the ongoing second wave, according to the news sources published on November 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of COVID-19 positive cases is escalating in the city, and public and private sector hospitals are both almost filled to capacity with the growing number of patients suffering from the virus. The limited number of ventilators are being utilized for the virus-infected patients and other patients are suffering for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lockdown in Peshawar has been imposed from Tuesday \u2013 after the city reported the highest number of cases in the province. In the district administration\u2019s notification issued on Tuesday, it was stated that the department will enforce controlled entry and exit of the specified localities \u2013 under Section 22 of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Epidemic Control & Emergency Relief Act 2020. Only the people buying essential commodities will be permitted to exit the specified localities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
