Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM<\/a>) Imran Khan has issued directions for the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and other relevant departments to provide facilities to non-resident Pakistanis seeking investment opportunities in the construction sector, according to a news report published on November 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PM Khan issued these instructions while presiding over the weekly meeting of the National Coordination Committee on Housing, Construction and Development. He also stated that the issuance of no-objection certificates (NOCs) and approvals pertaining to utility services should be simplified to facilitate overseas investors. He said that there isn\u2019t any justifiable reason for delayed approvals of new electricity connections as presently there is no power shortage in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the PM ordered the authorities concerned to ensure that people applying for loans under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) for the construction of their own house should not be unnecessarily burdened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Secretary of Energy and Petroleum Division informed the said meeting revealed that an online system was being devised for the NOC of gas connections, which would create a facility for the consumers. The Ministry of Energy also presented a briefing on the provision of power and gas connections for new projects of the construction sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
