Sukkur: The Sindh High Court (SHC)\u2019s Sukkur bench has ordered the Sindh government to construct housing societies for low-income government employees by utilizing the revenue departments\u2019 vacant land, according to a news report published on November 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The orders were passed by a division bench comprising Justice Aftab Ahmed Gorar and Justice Mehmood A Khan. The two were presiding over a session held to take up an application filed by two employees of the revenue department<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the details revealed, the applicants had contended that the residential quarters of the revenue department were illegally occupied by the land-grabber mafia and the department was not allotting them houses despite them being the employees of the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, the court ordered the chief secretary to use the departments\u2019 land to construct housing schemes instead of selling it to the builder mafia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the SHC\u2019s bench ordered the deputy commissioners concerned to widen the road infrastructure by eliminating the encroachments blocking the pathways. It was also observed that in future only government will be permitted to construct a mosque on its land, instead of private builders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the court directed all the deputy commissioners to ensure the removal of land grabbers from the revenue land and government quarters and submit a detailed operation report on December 17.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
