Lahore: The Punjab<\/a> government has announced its decision to develop 30 new tourist destinations under its \u2018Tourism for Economic Growth\u2019, which will generate employment opportunities for as many as 20,000 individuals \u2013 according to news sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under this programme, as many as eight religious sites of Buddhist and Sikh beliefs will be rehabilitated. Moreover, over 5,000 years-old heritage of Harappa and other historical sites along the Indus Valley strip, Kotli Sattian, Narh, and other areas across Northern Punjab will be developed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, it was reported that there are 12 to 14 religiously historical sites located near Khushab, Jhelum, Chakwal, and the salt range of Mianwali. The government is also planning to preserve the forts and other heritage sites dating back to ancient Hindu dynasties and open these places for tourists under Tourism for Economic Growth initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
