The tubewells contribute 24.5MGD and another 24MGD is supplied by Simly water reservoir. Khanpur Dam and three waterworks located in Shahdara, Nurpur and Saidpur contribute 8.5 and 2 MGD respectively. Moreover, a new power generator was installed to ensure that no water is wasted due to a disruption in power supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past few years, officials of the Water Supply Directorate in CDA gave added importance to the deep sunk tube wells, which they termed as the biggest sources of water in the capital. A number of these were sunk further in order to draw more water. Lastly, the chairman of the CDA directed officials to pursue the \u2018Wetlands projects\u2019 more aggressively as they will help in cleaning contaminated water and aid in recharge the subsoil water.
