The project was undertaken by China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/authority-chairman-shares-investment-projects-details.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CPEC Authority Chairman shares investment, projects\u2019 details<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talking to the media, Mr Bajwa said that the first phase, spreading over 60 acres of land, has been completed. So far, 47 enterprises have been registered and six factories have been completed; out of which 3 are operational. While six are under construction.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shedding light on the second phase of Gwadar Free Zone (GFZ), Mr Bajwa said that the investors are willing to invest USD 3 billion which will help in creating 30,000 jobs. He also revealed that the Eastbay Expressway will transport the cargo from port city to M-8 for shipping across the country. He further added that 94% of work on the expressway is complete and the inauguration is expected in September.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to this, work on Gwadar Airport is underway and city vocational institutes will be completed by the end of October. Also, the master plan of Gwadar City has been approved and is in the implementation stage.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Authority Chairman, the Gwadar Port, and GFZ after being operational, will generate economic activities worth USD 10 billion yearly and will also create thousands of jobs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/completion-gwadar-east-bay-expressway.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Timely completion of Gwadar East Bay Expressway, Indus Highway Sindh ordered<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officials also mentioned that the port has handled 67,000 tonnes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/first-shipment-from-hk-sun-corporation-cleared-for-gfz.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cargo<\/a>, which was transported to Afghanistan.
