Islamabad: <\/strong>Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the groundwork for 62-kilometres long Lodhran-Multan Highway improvement project, news sources reported. The project would be completed in two years with a budget of PKR 6.68 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the premier stated that the project will improve connections, spur long-term growth, and generate new employment in the region. He believes that increased economic activity in south Punjab will bring wealth to the province’s underserved areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Multan-Lodhran Highway is part of the National Highway (N)-5 highway, which runs from Karachi to Lahore and goes all the way up to Peshawar. The project is regarded as a vital link in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) road network. It is also significant because of its central location in the province; it serves as a vital connection route with Balochistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
