Lahore: The provincial government has set aside a total of 35% of the Annual Development Project budget for the infrastructure and development projects in South Punjab, news Sources reported. Three divisions; Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur are to get PKR 189.228 billion funds for the completion of existing and new projects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A breakdown of the Annual Development Project funds\u2019 allocation is as follows:
\u2022 PKR 35.702 billion has been set aside for the special initiatives
\u2022 PKR 14.083 billion will be spent on the planning and development
\u2022 PKR 15.362 billion for primary and secondary education and PKR 4.866 billion for higher education
\u2022 PKR 1.015 billion for literacy and non-formal education
\u2022 PKR 1.806 billion for sports and youth affairs
\u2022 PKR 28.304 billion for specialised healthcare and medical education.
\u2022 PKR 5.886 billion for primary & secondary healthcare
\u2022 PKR 7.679 billion for public buildings
\u2022 PKR 3.967 billion for urban development,
\u2022 PKR 11.086 billion for agriculture, PKR 1.127 billion for forestry
\u2022 PKR 7.371 billion for local government & community development
\u2022 PKR 1.898 billion for energy
\u2022 PKR 22.52 billion for roads, PKR 7.901 billion for irrigation
\u2022 PKR 4.889 billion for water supply & sanitation
\u2022 PKR 1.205 billion for governance & information technology
\u2022 PKR 4.057 billion for industries
\u2022 PKR 1.488 billion for the environment & climate change
\u2022 PKR 248 million for auqaf and religious affairs
\u2022 Archaeology will receive PKR 193 million
\u2022 PKR 152 million for culture and information
\u2022 PKR 157 million has been earmarked for special education
\u2022 PKR 875 million for the human rights and minorities affairs
\u2022 PKR 664 million for population welfare
\u2022 PKR 349 million for social welfare
\u2022 PKR 46 million for women development
\u2022 PKR 213 million for wildlife
\u2022 PKR 274 million for fisheries
\u2022 PKR 236 million for food PKR 1.987 billion for livestock
\u2022 PKR 340 million for mines & minerals,
\u2022 PKR 316 million for tourism
\u2022 PKR 147 million for labour
\u2022 PKR 365 million for transport
\u2022 PKR 464 million for Rescue 1122<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the fiscal year budget 2021-2022, the federal government has committed PKR 90 billion for road and connectivity-related infrastructure under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP)<\/a>. The provincial administration intends to use the funds for the Gujranwala-Sialkot Motorway project. Aside from the massive road infrastructure project, the Punjab government would invest PKR 3.5 billion in power supply projects for the Allama Iqbal Industrial Zone in Faisalabad.
