Peshawar: The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Friday proposed a budget of PKR 1,118.3 billion for the fiscal year 2021-22 (FY22) \u2013 out of which, PKR 371 billion will be spent on uplift projects, news sources reported. The said budget allocated PKR 199.3 billion for the merged districts, as well as PKR 919 billion for the developed areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KP Minister for Finance Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra presented the budget. It was suggested that of PKR 37 billion allocations for the development, PKR 270.7 billion will be used for settled and PKR 100.3 billion will be used for merged tribal districts. Other major highlights of the budget are as follows:
\u2022 PKR 48. 2 billion has been set aside for the construction of 3,000 kilometres of the road network, the roads to be constructed includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  2. Swat motorway Phase-II<\/li>

  5. Northern bypass<\/li>
  6. Haripur bypass<\/li>
  7. Bannu Circular Road<\/li>
  8. Tall-Mir Ali road<\/li>
  9. Bannu-Ghulam Khan road<\/li>
  10. Karakar tunnel<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    \u2022 PKR 12 billion has been set aside for the construction and completion of the projects like Arbab Niaz, Hayatabad and Kalam cricket stadiums, Motorsports arena, Hund Water Park, rehabilitation and renovation of Dilip Kumar’s house and Raj Kapoor’s Haveli and renovation and completion of Madaklasht chairlift.
    \u2022 PKR 44.032 is reserved for the planning and development department
    \u2022 PKR 41.811 is allocated for environmental preservation
    \u2022 PKR 20.550 has been reserved for sports and tourism
