Islamabad: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Dr Reza Bakir stated that the Roshan Digital Scheme has connected Pakistan’s huge diaspora of seven to nine million people to the national economy, according to news sources.
He said that the interventions have brought stability to the country’s fragile economy during the epidemic and had collected USD 1.5 billion<\/a> from non-Pakistani residents (NPR) settled across 171 countries through 181,556 accounts throughout the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a conference at the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) on a policy paper, he highlighted the SBP’s pre and post-pandemic actions to stabilise the economy.
He also mentioned some of the steps taken by the government to reduce the impact of the pandemic on the economy some of which are mentioned as:
\u2022 The change of fixed exchange rate regime to market directed rupee appreciation\/depreciation
\u2022 Temporary Economic Reform Facility (TERF) to help the industry survive the economic shock
\u2022 Introduction of Housing schemes to stimulate the economy and bring more revenue
\u2022 Principal Loan Extension Program’ and ‘Rozgar\u2019 Scheme to Prevent Layoffs and joblessness<\/p>\n\n\n\n
