Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)Local Government <\/a>(LG) has requested PKR 4.8 billion from the provincial government after it advised Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) to waive property taxes in the new fiscal year, news sources reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the details shared, the KP government has advised TMAs to not collect the property tax in the fiscal year 2021-22, subjected to the opinion of local government in this regard. It has been also reported that PKR 4 billion has been offered to TMAs as compensation for non-collection of property tax in fiscal year (FY 2020-21) based on data collected in the previous fiscal year, however, the department now seeks 20% increase in funds for offering the same relaxation in FY 2021-22.
Previously, the KP government waived property taxes till June 30 in the view of prevailing coronavirus pandemic, which led to revenue shrinking for TMAs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
