Lahore: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has begun to issue mutation and inheritance certificates<\/a> to the deceased’s kin, news sources reported. The certificate issuance system charges PKR 10,000 for inheritances worth less than PKR 100,000, and PKR 20,000 for claims worth more than PKR 100,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the information released by the authorities, the legal kin applicants will be required to visit a NADRA registration centre for biometric verification; however, the verification process will also be available online. Only when the particulars of the applicant have been verified, the certificate of mutation and inheritance will be issued within 15 days. While legal objections to the certificate will be heard within 14 days. Furthermore, the applicants will be given a tracking number that they may use to follow the status of their application.
Upon the application submission, NADRA will review the applicant’s family tree, and a deceleration form will be issued, a sample of which is also provided on the NADRA website. The document will include the legal heirs’ details, and each heir will be required to produce a copy of their CNIC for the purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NADRA Director General (DG) Major (retired) Saqlain Abbas Bukhari stated that the procedure will make getting the certificate more efficient and simplified, which was previously a time-consuming process.
