The city has been expanding ever since the 70s and many adjoining areas in its east and west that once enjoyed independent status are now a part of Karachi. It is discouraging to note that the largest city of Pakistan has been denied of new housing and commercial developments that it direly requires in order to deal with the continuous influx of population from all cities of Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>A commendable step taken by the government of Pakistan, to address the housing needs of Karachi, is the announcement of 10,000 housing units under Prime Minister Housing Programme. This project targets the low income families and aims at offering them affordable residence of their own. Despite the political conflict between the two major political parties of Pakistan about stealing the idea of housing project meant solely for the middle and lower middle class, Prime Minister\u2019s Housing Programme will actually benefit the people throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>For 10,000 houses in Karachi, Malir Development Authority (MDA) has completed the paperwork and sent it to higher authorities for approval. These houses will be constructed in Taiser Town. MDA has shown commitment to finish the project within one year because 70% development of the roads and laying of pipelines for water, electricity, gas and sewerage has been completed there. Once these 10,000 houses are delivered, the activity in the commercial and industrial sector will begin, triggering further development in Taiser Town, which is the government&#8217;s main commercial and housing scheme in Karachi.<\/p>\n<p>The availability of affordable accommodation options in Karachi is one of the many reasons why it is the top choice for many people looking for ways to earn regular income.
