Islamabad: The Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Kuninori Matsuda on Tuesday (August 3) said that many Japanese companies dealing in automobile and food processing are eager to invest in Pakistan, news sources reported. The Ambassador stated this in a meeting with the Secretary Board of Investment (BOI) Fareena Mazhar.\u00a0 Read: Japan to create employment opportunities for Pakistanis The two discussed the potential of foreign investment in Pakistan. The secretary informed the ambassador of the economic opportunities for foreign investors in several sectors. Discussing the ambassador\u2019s concerns about advance tax, BOI Secretary Mazhar said that the issues will be discussed with higher-ups and that a mutually beneficial relationship would be established. The Japanese ambassador informed the secretary of the joint dialogue between the government and private sector of Japan and Pakistan planned during the second half of the year. He also mentioned that the two countries will commemorate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations, which will serve as a chance to further enhance their existing close relationships.
