Karachi: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Monday (August 9) highlighted the need to transform Katchi Abadis in Karachi into developed areas with proper drinking water, healthcare, road infrastructure<\/a>, and educational facilities, media sources reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He expressed these views while presiding over a high-level meeting at the Governor House on August 9. The meeting was attended by MNA Najeeb Haroon, MPA Jamal Siddiqi, MNA Aamir Liaquat, MPA Khurram SherZaman, Brig (R) Mazhar, MPR Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Naya Pakistan Housing & Development Authority senior officials, and Principal Secretary to Governor Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rehman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to this, the meeting was attended through a video link by Ministry of Housing and Works Secretary Imran Zeb Khan, Naya Pakistan Housing & Development Authority Chairman Lt. General (R) Anwar Ali Hyder, and Federal Government Employees Housing Authority Director General Tariq Rasheed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the details shared, the meeting discussed different options in regards to the development of Pakistan Quarters, Jamshaid Quarters, and Katchi Abadis on federal government land in the city. The attendees also talked about alternative arrangements for the occupants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
