Peshawar: The changing political situation in Afghanistan has led to a rise in trade traffic on Torkham Boarder<\/a>, where the number of cargo trucks has increased from 70 to 270 within the past 36 hours, according to news sources. The customs officials have reported that that the trade on the Pak-Afghan border has been doubled since the new forces peacefully took control of the Afghan capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is in addition to the mega development where the new administrative forces in Afghanistan have announced to reduce customs duty on 159 items including cement, glass, steel and food etc. The reduction in customs duty will bring down the rate of construction material in Pakistan as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reportedly, custom duty on reduction will also impact the price of petrol, diesel, electronics and edible items that will be imported to and exported from Afghanistan. The development will lead to a 50-90% drop in prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
