Islamabad: Commissioner of Internal Revenue Abbas Ahmed Mir on Wednesday (September 9 stated) that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)<\/a> will not extend the income tax filing deadline \u2013 which is to expire on September 30, news sources reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commissioner Ahmad revealed this on his visit to the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI). He said that a help desk will be established in RCCI to encourage and help in filing income tax returns. He stated that taxes benefit the country’s economy and that traders constitute the country’s backbone in this regard.\u00a0 On the occasion, RCCI Acting President Osman Ashraf briefed the commissioner on the issues encountered by traders and the business community regarding Point Of Sale (POS) system instalments and letters issued by the tax authorities that caused discontent among retailers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He asked the commissioner to take trade associations into confidence before installing POS.
