Karachi: The Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SPEA<\/a>) on Thursday (September 9) ordered all the district officers and regional heads to conduct a survey of industrial units in residential areas across the province, according to news sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the details, the survey will be carried out in different districts of Karachi including Keamari, Malir, Central, Korani, South, West, and East. In addition to this, a survey was ordered for the industrial units in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, and Larkana. The authority ordered district and regional administrations to conduct a survey in districts that were known to have industrial units. It was reported that Kandhkot, Umerkot, and Tharparkar were not included in the survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the SEPA directives, the officials are required to form teams and submit comprehensive reports within 15 days. For conducting the survey, the officials will have to go door-to-door in the residential areas where illegal commercial and industrial activities are being conducted without proper safety precautions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
