The commissioner has also implemented Section 6 of the Land Acquisition Act 1862 to purchase neighbouring land for development purposes. The project includes the construction of a flyover that will connect Canal Road (from Thokar Niaz Baig to Shahkam Chowk), and other roads linking to the posh residential areas of Bahria Town, Mohlanwal Stop (Multan Road), and New Defence.
