Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Shahid Karim on Thursday (September 23) sought a report from the Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) regarding the installation of smog towers in the city, the news sources reported. Water and Environmental Commission Focal Person Syed Kamal Haider, while submitting the report, told the court that the Judicial Commission had issued notices to 305 industries and steel mills causing environmental pollution in the city. The factories and industries have been instructed to install air pollution control devices and CCTV cameras as soon as the smog season begins. Similarly, the secretary environment has also been directed to formulate a smog action plan for the year 2021-2022 in seven days.
