Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) board has decided to have a joint meeting with the officials of Privatisation Commission to discuss the privatisation of the Jinnah Convention Centre (JCC)<\/a>, news sources reported. The meeting will discuss the outstanding issues related to the privatisation of the 7.59-acre JCC and the matters that have led to the delay in the process.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to sources, the meeting has been convened by city management to address ongoing issues with the sale of JCC. The convention centre located at one end of the Constitutional Avenue in Islamabad was transferred to the ministry of the interior<\/a> after the payment of PKR 1.14 billion to CDA. in this regard, the CDA also issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the privatisation of the property for commercial purposes. However, as per the privatisation commission, CDA postponed the updated allotment letter due to the requirement of a feasibility report on water availability, solid waste management plan, energy and power supply from a grid, traffic effect, and sewage treatment plant (STP).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, the privatisation ministry has indicated that following the cabinet and prime minister\u2019s consent, there was no need for such a report submission.
