According to the updated design, an extra three kanal of land would be purchased from the bank, bringing the total cost of the project to PKR 2.70 billion. Reportedly, there are also two choices for the Kareem Block project in the proposed design. The first alternative is to build an underpass, which will convert the intersection into a signal-free route, allowing traffic from Multan Road to continue uninterrupted to Bhekewal Road. The second alternative is to build a three-legged flyover, allowing traffic from Multan Road to continue uninterrupted to Canal Road and Bhekewal Mor. The 500-meter-long full-height dual carriageway underpass will cost PKR 1.39 billion to build.
