Road, will be expanded in two phases. Phase-I will include a two-kilometre portion from Korang Bridge to PWD Interchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being one of the busiest roads in the city, traffic on this main artery has increased because of the growth of housing societies. According to the CDA officials, if the portion was widened from the existing two to four lanes, half of the congestion problems on the expressway will be solved.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, the CDA board has decided to award the contract of the expressway under Rule 42(f) of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules. It will help solve the problems faced by commuters on the Koral-Rawat section of the expressway. According to CDA officials of the engineering wing, the agency has reserved PKR 2 billion for the project and will get a 2-kilometre portion constructed on its own. However, for the remaining 7-kilometre up to G.T. The CDA officials stated that the work on the interchange has been completed and is open to the public.
