The said train service is expected to ease the burden of traffic caused by the container trucks on highways and roads.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/pakistan-railways-cold-chain-service.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pakistan Railways launches first cold chain freight service<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The freight train will reach its destination in Lahore within four days.\u00a0 The freight train service matches the commissioning of the 3.7-kilometre high-tech train track laid at Hutchison Ports Pakistan that will link the facility with the rest of the country. As per the details, the new track placed within the terminal encompasses three rail sidings of 700 metres each along with a crippled wagon sliding. The tracks are ballastless and embedded in concrete. The switching between tracks and signalling will be through a computer-based interlocking system.\u00a0 Moreover, General Manager and Head of Business Unit at Hutchison Ports Pakistan Captain Syed Rashid Jamil, while speaking at the ceremony, stated that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/freight-train-fares-reduced-10-rasheed.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"58421\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">freight train service will boost<\/a> the country\u2019s trade.
