Islamabad: The federal government has issued PKR 4 billion funds to the provincial governments for the protection and preservation of national parks<\/a> in the country, according to news published on Thursday (March 10).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the details, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has ordered to set up 15 new national parks in order to increase forest cover by 15% by 2023. It was notified that nine new national parks will be established while 6 were notified, but not protected. The work has started to make the national parks fully functional with proper governance and management.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the federal government has also provided funds for the preparation of management plans, promotion of eco-tourism, and generation of green jobs.
