Karachi: The Sindh government \u2013 in collaboration with the Geneva-based International Trade Centre (ITC) \u2013 is preparing the province’s Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Competitive Strategy, news sources reported. The Industries and Commerce department will develop the strategy in line with the European Union’s (EU) Growth for Rural Advancement and Sustainable Progress (GRASP) project. Read: LCCI, SBP to jointly hold SME Mela this week Reportedly, the decision to start work on the SME policy was taken during a Sindh Provincial Working Group (PWG) meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah. In this regard, the Sindh PWG has adopted a technical document to outline the objectives of the SME policy, which were chosen following a meeting with key stakeholders and a performance evaluation of the SME in the province. In a press statement, ITC stated that it had discussions with over 200 stakeholders from the agricultural, manufacturing, and services sectors for the strategic orientations of the policy in November 2021.
