Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allocated PKR 21 million for the beautification and preservation of greenbelts in various parts of the city, news sources reported. The funds will be utilised to build green belts, landscapes, and buffer zones to avoid encroachment. The government intends to launch the beautification campaign from greenbelts situated in sectors I-8\/2 and H-8\/4. According to the official, one of the federal apex agency’s primary priorities is to safeguard green belts. He also indicated that a concerted effort was underway to combat encroachments built on green belts and beyond plot limitations. The spokesman further stated that the Municipal Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) and the city administration have begun an anti-encroachment campaign to prevent car parking and vendors from encroaching on green belts in various city sections and that temporary constructions have been removed.
