As per the details, the PR will replace critical stretches of the existing track and maintain the existing engines, coaches, and relay interlocking\/signalling system.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, the said rail line can be of international significance since Sikhs can use it to reach Kartarpur and other temples within the shortest time. Keeping this in mind, the PR has been asked to complete it as a top priority. Reportedly, the train is operational from Lahore to Narowal; however, due to the dilapidated condition of the track, the train\u2019s speed is limited to 60 km per hour.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/connect-kcr-brt-lines.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pakistan Railways plans to connect KCR with BRT lines<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairman Gilani has asked the PR officials to rehabilitate the rail track from Narowal to Kartarpur and start operating two trains daily. If the train is restored completely, the train speed can be increased to 120 km per hour and travel time from Lahore to Kartarpur will be reduced to one hour.
