The directions were given to all print and broadcast agencies at the request of the RDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/lhc-noc-qr-housing-scheme-advertisement.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"83788\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LHC makes NOC, QR codes mandatory for housing schemes\u2019 advertisement<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reportedly, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/pemra-housing-schemes-advertisement.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"84236\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RDA has recommended that PEMRA<\/a> ban the marketing of any unlawful housing projects on TV channels, radio stations, and social media platforms to prevent consumers from being scammed. In the public&#8217;s interest, the PEMRA will block and suspend the social media accounts of all illegal housing schemes and their owners.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to RDA sources, there are around 134 housing projects in District Council Rawalpindi, including 88 illegal and unapproved plans, functioning within the RDA&#8217;s jurisdiction. In addition, the following schemes are in operation in various regions of the Rawalpindi division:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/pta-illegal-housing-social-media.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"85743\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PTA bans illegal housing schemes from advertising on social media<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>7 schemes and housing projects are either unapproved or illegal in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/cm-action-illegal-construction-murree.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"86034\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tehsil Murree<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>28 schemes and housing projects are illegal within Tehsil Taxila<\/li><li>8 housing projects are unapproved and illegal in Tehsil Gujar Khan\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>3 housing projects are within the limits of Tehsil Kotli Sattian\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The RDA spokesperson also stated that the Director-General (DG) RDA CAPT (Retd.) Tahir Zafar Abbasi has written letters to PEMRA,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/banks-to-update-consumer-payment-apps-security.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"85664\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), <\/a>National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), District Collector Rawalpindi, and Commissioner Islamabad to block social media and bank accounts of all the owners of the illegal housing schemes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/punjab-commission-illegal-schemes.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"80498\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Commission formed to regularise housing schemes in Punjab<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is worth noting that the Lahore High Court (LHC) instructed the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/lhc-noc-qr-housing-scheme-advertisement.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"83788\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Lahore Development Auth<\/a>ority (LDA) in February 2022 to curb the promotion of unlawful housing developments within its jurisdiction.
