Rawalpindi: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to shelve the Islamabad Ring Road<\/a> project till the next fiscal year, news sources reported on May 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An official whose name wasn\u2019t disclosed said that CDA has decided not to allocate funds for the project in the budget, which is to be sent to the federal government. It was highlighted that the Islamabad and Rawalpindi Ring Road projects were planned to link the twin cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the plan, the Islamabad Ring Road is supposed to start from Sangjani Interchange and conclude where Rawalpindi Ring Road starts. The 50-kilometre-long road project is supposed to pass Kllar Syeddan, Charah, Shah Allah Ditta, Margalla Hills, Bhara Kahu, and F-Series sectors. The estimated funds of PKR 70 billion required for the project were to be provided by the federal government through CDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
