Federal Minister for Water Resources Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, speaking at the ceremony, mentioned that the said project is significant for the country as it will address the issue of water supply to the economic hub.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, the attendees were briefed about phase-I of the K-IV project. It was informed that under phase-I, construction work will be started in Malir, Karachi West, and Thatta. The PC-I of the project is approved at the cost of PKR 126.5 billion. The said project will supply 260 MGD of water to the port city.\u00a0 The details of the three contracts signed are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/wapda-small-medium-dams.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WAPDA fast tracks development of small, medium dams in Pakistan<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Contract Package K-IV PL-I, worth PKR 52.71 billion, was for pressurised water transmission MS pipelines and allied work from RD 0 to RD 64+200<\/li><li>Contract Package K-IV PL-II, worth PKR 28.846 billion, was for pressurised water transmission MS pipelines and allied work from RD 64+200 to RD 111+700<\/li><li>Contract Package K-IV PS, worth PKR 17.40 billion, was for construction and engineering procurement&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the project will be completed in eight packages, out of which contracts for two have already been awarded while three were recently awarded.
