The budget allocates PKR 180.015 billion to 74 ongoing programmes and PKR 3.2 billion to 13 new projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/govt-pkr-1-5-tr-water-projects.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Govt to allocate PKR 1.5 tr for water projects<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the reports, the allocation of the budget has been prioritized for the major water development schemes such as 13 hydel and 61 water sector projects. The following is the breakdown of the allocated funds for the projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>PKR 55.383 billion for Dasu Hydropower Project (with a power generation capacity of 2,160 MW)<\/li><li>PKR 12.083 billion for the\u00a0 Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project (696 MW)<\/li><li>PKR 12.2 billion for the Tarbela 5th Extension Hydropower Project (1,410 MW)<\/li><li>PKR 20 billion has been allocated for the Diamer Basha Dam Project<\/li><li>PKR 20 billion for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/wapda-awards-three-contracts-k-iv-phase-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">K-IV<\/a> Greater Water Supply Scheme (260 MGD)<\/li><li>PKR 12.060 billion for Mohmand Multipurpose Dam Project<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/china-sialkots-first-wastewater-treatment-plant.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">China to build Sialkot\u2019s first waste water treatment plant<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>PKR 7 billion for Diamer Basha Dam Project (Land Acquisition and Resettlement)<\/li><li>PKR 5 billion for Nai Gaj Dam Project Dadu (Sindh)<\/li><li>PKR 5 billion for the Karachi Canal Project (Phase-I) Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Bolan and Jhal Magsi<\/li><li>PKR 500 million for Chashma Right Bank Canal Lift Cum Gravity Project<\/li><li>PKR 300 million each for the construction of five small dams: Salari-2 Dam, Rai Jo Da Dam, Shalmani Dam, Garwari Dam and Amari Dam in Kohistan Dadu<\/li><li>PKR 300 million for the construction of six dams including Densi, Kcodal, Kambowah, Khiropora and others; for construction of six small dams in District Zhob and Sherani, and other projects<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is worth noting that the federal government has set aside PKR 73 billion for the power sector, recognising the importance of energy in the country&#8217;s growth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad: The federal government has allocated PKR 183.215 billion for the development of 87 water development schemes, news sources reported on June 10.
