Karachi: Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Director General Syed Muhammad Ali Shah stated that work on \u2018Karachi Master Plan 2047\u2019 is underway, according to a news story published on June 16.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a meeting held at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), KDA DG Shah revealed that the feasibility of the plan has been approved under which the city\u2019s infrastructure will be revamped to state-of-the-art infrastructure as per international standards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meeting, the KDA DG revealed that the authority is working on the K-IV project and infrastructure development projects related to it. The authority is undertaking projects where the water supply network under K-IV was unavailable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharing details about Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, KDA DG Shah disclosed that several buses were operating under Green Line BRT and some buses have arrived for Orange Line BRT – which will be completed soon. Also, work on Red Line Project will be initiated soon. He added that the said projects will be completed within the shortest possible time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the director general mentioned that due to a lack of coordination between Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), KDA, and Water Board several problems were created during development work. Fortunately, this issue has been addressed and coordination among departments has been improved.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reportedly, the biggest issues faced by Karachi were illegal constructions, rising activities of the land-grabbing mafia, encroachments, unlawful parking, and misuse of public parks.
