Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday (June 16) directed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to expedite construction on the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) project, news sources reported. The 306-kilometer-long, 6-lane, access-controlled road infrastructure is being built under a public-private partnership (PPP<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reportedly, the project features 15 interchanges and passes through six districts. Besides reducing the distance, travel time and fuel consumption, the project would also ease the transportation of exported goods from across Pakistan to Karachi ports. The premier reviewed the progress of various development projects going on in the country and asked the authorities to take all measures to complete the projects on time to facilitate trade, tourism and connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the premier was informed about the Karakorum Highway’s 250-kilometre-long Thakot-Raikot stretch.
