(OGDC) on Wednesday (June 22) announced the discovery of oil and gas reserves in Tando Allah Yar and Rajanpur (tribal area) of Punjab, news sources reported. The Drill Stem Test-1 (DST) in the Basal Sand tested 1,400 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and 5.02 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas, according to the regulatory filing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gas reserves have been part of the company&#8217;s major exploration drive with 95% stake, and the remaining 5% with Government Holdings Private Ltd. Similarly, the OGDCL stated that the gas reserves discovered in Rajanpur are of a lower size. However, DST-1 into the Parh and Fort Munro\/Mughal Kot formations flowed gas at a rate of 1.24 mmscfd. It is worth noting that the Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) has declared the finding of a 1 trillion cubic foot gas reserve in North Waziristan.
