The authorities have integrated a 2-tier approval process for private housing schemes that include the issuance of NOC and approval after submitting the layout plan. It was disclosed that the process includes 19 major and 29 intermediate steps.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, the NOC approval by the civic agency takes up to 2.5 years. After the approval of NOC, the development work can be started and can take up to two decades to be complete. In the last few decades, the government has not introduced new residential sectors, which has encouraged the private sector to cater to the rising housing demand in the city.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to an official of the district administration (whose name was not disclosed) mentioned that once the list is prepared, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/fia-investigate-illegal-housing-schemes.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">illegal housing societies<\/a> will have to stop all development work or strict legal action will be taken against them.
