Lahore: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA)-Lahore has operationalised all three underground water reservoir storage tanks built to conserve rainwater<\/a> and help avoid urban flooding in low-lying areas of the city, according to news published on July 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The water storage tank located on Lawrance Road is complete and fully operationalised, while those located on Kashmir Raod and Sheranwala Gate are currently under-development, but have been made operational in the wake of recent monsoon rain spells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the details, the agency has initiated all projects aimed at the rapid dewatering of the city after rain spells and repurposing the stored water for horticultural activities. The water tank near Sheranwala Gate is linked with pipelines, which will help store 14 million gallons of water instead of flooding Circular Road \u2013 which was a concern previously.
On July 12, the official handle of the Punjab government shared a video of the test run of the underground water storage tank established near Lawrence Road.
