Lahore: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA<\/a>) has announced its decision to convert the 17th-century hujras of the Wazir Khan Mosque into a business hub to showcase the works of famous artisans and companies, according to news published on August 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the renovation and conservation of these hujras, businesses of local products can be displayed for tourists. Presently, Luna Heritage has set up its first on-site franchise establishment, which showcases products like handmade artefacts, clothes, antiques, museum replicas and other accessories. Other companies that are expected to set up outlets in these hujras include; Pen Asia, Khazineyi, Hast-o-Neest, Indus Heritage Trust (IHT) and Tahir Mahmood Designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This business hub aims to preserve the historical sites of the walled city and traditionally promote local products. To this effect, an inaugural ceremony was held at Wazir Khan Square.
