It said that the policy rate was retained at 15% to alleviate the strain on the economy and to account for shifting macroeconomic conditions. It further stated that the resumption of IMF support and the flow of cash from other friendly countries have decreased the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/drop-in-imports-narrows-current-account-deficit-to-71.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"63040\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">current account deficit (CAD)<\/a>, further strengthening the economy. To reduce the outflow of foreign exchange (forex), the nation also imposed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/import-ban-businesses-19th.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"86098\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">blanket ban<\/a> on luxury non-essential goods imports.
