The government has received the funds under the IMF Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/imf-usd-1-17-bn-loan-pakistan-eff.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"88316\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IMF approves USD 1.17 bn loan for Pakistan under EFF<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports, the government got the 7th and 8th tranches from the IMF following approval from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/govt-imf-staff-level-agreement-extended-fund-facility.html\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"81629\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IMF&#8217;s Executive Board <\/a>on Monday (August 29). Following the meeting, the government got an immediate payout from the IMF of SDR 894 million (around USD 1.16 billion). The central bank also reported the news on its official Twitter account, citing it as significant for the country&#8217;s foreign exchange reserves (FOREX).
