Islamabad: To boost women’s economic engagement, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) has proposed a 25% tax break for businesses owned solely by women., news sources reported on November 1.\u00a0 Read: IT minister inaugurates Amazon Software Technology Park, vows to construct more SMEDA General Manager (GM) Nadia Jahangir Seth informed the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Industries and Production of the announcement. She stated that the government has established goals for women’s involvement in industries and that tax breaks will encourage more women to work in traditional sectors. The standing committee was also informed that the government is developing new strategies for the e-commerce industry to enhance its outcomes.
