Mirpur: <\/strong>Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan on Sunday (November 06) laid the foundation stone of a free-of-cost housing project for the heirs of martyrs, poor and orphan children and families, news sources reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The housing project is the first of its kind in AJK, launched in partnership with the Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT). This initiative will construct separate colonies of 500 houses in the four districts of Azad Kashmir; Neelam, Bagh, Kotli, and Mirpur. The initiative will be a collaborative endeavour between the KROT and the AJK government,<\/a> with both bearing an equal portion of the expenditures. Moreover, it was announced that the said homes will be allocated equally on the government’s assessment, with priority given to families of martyrs slain in shelling along the Line of Control (LoC).\u00a0 Ilyas also announced the construction of protective bunkers along the LOC to safeguard people from deliberate violations of the LoC ceasefire. He stated that the initiatives were started by the government in honour of martyrs\u2019 contributions to the land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
