Waheed stated at the meeting that fire hydrants should be installed in all commercial marketplaces and plazas as part of public-private collaboration and for public safety and company security. He stated that Rescue 1122 has begun issuing building safety certifications, but the biggest impediment is a lack of sufficient infrastructure in most of the buildings. He asked that the LCCI president play a role in persuading trade bodies to follow the safety process in order to avoid any loss of life or property during fire incidents.
