Karachi: Sindh Minister of Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon on Sunday (November 27) announced the launch of an environment-friendly electric taxi service in Karachi, news sources reported. Read: Test run underway for Karachi\u2019s first electric buses\u00a0 Speaking to the media, the minister stated that the project has been in the works for quite some time and that all discussions are nearing completion, with the project set to launch soon. He said that the initiative would strengthen Karachi’s transportation infrastructure by offering its citizens a low-cost transit system. He added that following its successful debut in Karachi, the project will be expanded to other cities in the province. He also briefed the media on the ongoing Bus Rapid Transit Red Line project. He said that the 22-kilometre-long project is approaching completion and that citizens would have access to it soon.
