Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi District Administration has decided to start an anti-encroachment operation<\/a> to clear roads and footpaths of encroachers from Iqbal Road \u2013 which is also known as Trunk Bazaar, according to news published on December 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The news source mentioned that the administration wants to make Iqbal Road a model road, free from all encroachments that will be replicated in other parts of the Raja Bazaar. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shoaib Ali met with the traders of Raja Bazaar to discuss the problems faced by shopkeepers in the main commercial hub of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, the deputy commissioner was informed that encroachments have made the lives of visitors and shopkeepers difficult. They stated that because of encroachments, less people visit the bazaar. It was mentioned that there was no parking space and visitors remained stuck in traffic for hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
