Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday (December 20) ordered the formation of a national policy for solar power and renewable energy, news sources reported. Read: Academia calls on SBP to fund green energy in the housing sector In a meeting to review ongoing energy development projects, including gas development schemes, PM Shehbaz said that solar and renewable energy sources should be an important part of the government\u2019s policy to secure a consistent energy supply for economic development. He said that the government will ensure appropriate and adequate policy measures to regulate the renewable energy sector to reduce reliance on excessively imported oil. During the meeting, PM Shehbaz also approved the completion of the construction work for the gas development plans initiated between 2013 and 2018.
