As per the sources, the meters that are planned to be installed in the first quarter of 2023 will help prevent electricity theft and monitor line losses. These new smart electric metres are estimated to be useful for up to 20 years, which will further <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/lesco-against-consumers-using-unlawful-connections.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reduce replacement charges and costs<\/a>. In addition to this, the meters will be temper proof which will reduce manpower consumption for meter readings.
