As per the PR sources, the department has planned to improve train speed up to 160 kilometres per hour (Km\/h) with the procurement of 230 passenger coaches and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/pakistan-railways-coaches-china.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">820 high-capacity wagons.<\/a> The official said that around 46 Completely-Built-Up (CBU) passenger coaches have been procured up till now, while the remaining 184 coaches would be manufactured in the country.
